Shakhtar Donetsk wonder Mykhailo Mudryk one to watch in 2023 as Arsenal race wide open - Fabrizio Romano

Arsenal are still interested in making a move for Shakhtar Donetsk wonder Mykhailo Mudryk, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Ukrainian wonder has been attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs for his sensational outings in the UEFA Champions League.

Romano confessed that the race for his signature is “still wide open” and that Shakhtar wants a fee in the region of €50/60m (£43m/£52m) for the winger.

“Mudryk, one to watch in 2023. Arsenal are still interested, contacts ongoing since August but no official bid on Shakhtar’s table yet,” said Romano on Twitter.

“The race is open, there are also other clubs. Shakhtar want more than rumoured €50/60m to sell him.”

Mudryk is an extremely special talent, something that’s been highlighted in his phenomenal UEFA Champions League displays this season.

Arsenal will find it extremely tricky to lure him to the Emirates Stadium but they have as good a chance as any other club in the running for him.

Shakhtar’s asking price seems like a fair one as of now, Mudryk has an extremely high ceiling and who knows what heights he could reach in a top European team.

The Premier League is arguably the perfect playground for the Ukrainian’s skillset too, he’s pacy, direct and an aggressive forward-thinking winger.

The Gunners’ current great form will only bode well for their chances of signing the 21-year-old, he may be even more interested after seeing what they are doing this campaign.

Adding a potential Premier League title to his resume may be the perfect potion for Mudryk to choose London over his various other suitors.
