Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provides Bukayo Saka contract update
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is confident about Bukayo Saka’s contract and is aware that it will take time.
The 20-year-old, who is now one of the club’s biggest stars, is entering the final year of his contract soon and is yet to sign an extension with his boyhood club.
However, Arteta believes that all parties are aligned and want the same outcome which is for Saka to remain at the club, as shared by Fabrizio Romano.
New deal for Saka?
A new deal for the wonderkid is top of the club’s priorities, with Saka establishing himself as one of the Gunners’ most important players in recent years.
The youngster, who grew up supporting the club, made his Arsenal debut in 2019, coming on as a late substitute in a home win against Fulham.
He has since gone to become one of the club’s most important players, making 133 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals, and providing 29 assists.
He last signed a new contract in 2020, after he broke into the team and was given the famous number seven shirt as a reward for his impressive performances.
The explosive winger is now also one of England’s most vital players, making 18 appearances for the Three Lions and playing a key role in England’s Euro 2020 run, where they lost in the final.
Arsenal fans will be hoping they can tie down their prized asset to a new long-term deal as soon as possible before other clubs begin to sniff around.
