Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun scores in third consecutive game on loan at Reims

Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun has scored in the third consecutive on loan for French side Reims, taking his tally to three for the season.

The 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Middlesborough, joined the club this summer on a season-long loan looking for consistent game time.

However, his third goal in as many games highlights how he has adapted to life in France and also highlights the striker’s potential.

Three in three!

The Arenal youth product joined the Ligue 1 side on 3 August rejecting interest from English clubs and he has taken to life in France like a moth to a flame so far.

His first goal came in a defeat against Marseille, where the striker, who is also able to represent the American national team, got onto the end of a cross and headed into the far corner.

The second of his three goals this season was a penalty against Clermont Foot, with the youngster slotting the ball through the keeper into the left-hand corner.

The third goal for the youngster was a side-foot finish against Strasbourg, with the shot having too much power on it for the keeper and trickling past the line.

Balogun’s most recent goal earned his side a point leaving them just a point off the foot of the table, ahead of their next match at home to Lyon

Arsenal will be aware of Balogun’s bright start and the England under-21 international will be hoping to continue his fine form this season.
