PSG join Barcelona in race for Aston Villa starlet Carney Chukwuemeka - report
PSG have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign Aston Villa starlet Carney Chukwuemeka.
According to the Mirror, the Ligue 1 champions have developed an interest in the 18-year-old midfielder after Steven Gerrard left him out of their pre-season tour for Australia.
This had led many to believe that they’re prepared to sell him and PSG have already touched base with his agent and are keen to discuss terms of a potential deal.
On his way out?
Gerrard surprised many when he left Chukwuemeka out of the matchday squad as there was genuine interest to watch him play.
However, without knowing the inner details and reasons behind this, it’s fair to side with the coach and believe that he made the right call.

This almost puts the player’s future in jeopardy especially if two giants of the European game are vying for your services.
There’s no reason why he would say no to either of them and stay at Villa Park as he’s unlikely to be paid more there and will not challenge for trophies or play in Europe.
He’s got 12 months left on his deal and the fact that he’s not keen on signing one suggests that the club may have to cash in on him this summer.
Whichever side signs him will be getting a talented midfield player for the next generation as his performances at the Under-19 European Championships show that he can go a long way with the right attitude.
