View: Nathan Moriah-Welsh may be utilty player Bournemouth need to avoid relegation

Nathan Moriah-Welsh has been impressing a great deal for the Bournemouth youth teams and could be set for a first-team role in the 2022/23 Premier League season.

The 20-year-old made his Cherries debut last season when he featured twice in the FA Cup, although he is no stranger to the first team.

The Guyana international has been named in the matchday squad on seven different occasions in the Championship, but Scott Parker is yet to give him his league debut.

That could definitely change in the upcoming Premier League season, when Parker is going to have his squad stretched to its limit.

The gruelling nature of the English top flight is certainly going to see a lot more injuries than the Championship and the five subs rule will help managers use their fringe players more often.

The 20-year-old is a midfielder by trade, but is lauded for his versatility and could play as a centre-back and further up the pitch as well to offer a goal threat.

His international experience will also come in handy as he’s played more games for his country (10) than he has for his club, scoring a goal for them as well.

He’s got the lungs to play at a 100 miles an hour and his passing range is exquisite – certainly for a player yet to make his senior league debut.

His versatility makes his inclusion on the bench a must as he could come in for at least four or five starting players which is saying something.

He’s one we’re going to be keeping an eye on in pre season.

In other Bournemouth news, the Cherries are keen on signing a Chelsea sensation this summer.
