Brentford signing Keane Lewis-Potter scores on full debut v Colchester in Carabao Cup

Keane Lewis-Potter has scored on his full Brentford debut in his new club’s 2-0 win Carabao Cup win against Colchester United.

The 21-year-old joined the Bees from Championship side Hull City earlier in the transfer window, signing a six-year deal at the GTech Community Stadium.

In his first start for the club starting on the right-wing, the England Under-21 international opened the scoring for the Bees against the League Two side.

Great start for the 21-year-old

The 21-year-old is sure to be pleased with his first goal for the club and will be hoping it is a sign of things to come in his Brentford career.

Lewis-Potter, who joined Brentford in a £16m deal, has only made two appearances since joining the London club in July 2022, and is yet to show the Brentford faithful what he can do.

The Hull City youth graduate made 47 appearances in all competitions, primarily from the left-wing, scoring 13 goals and notching four assists in the process.

While with the Tigers, Lewis-Potter established himself as a talented and aggressive dribbler with good agility, acceleration, and flair while also having an eye for a pass.

The Bees went on to win the game 2-0 and progress to the next round of the tournament, but for Lewis-Potter the game will mean much more than a routine win over lower-league opposition.

The former Hull City winger will be hoping that this is the game that kickstarts his top-flight career and be delighted that he has now opened his account for his new club.

In other Brentford news, the club should be pleased about Aaron Hickey’s start to life at the club.
