Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi set to extend Bayer Leverkusen loan - report
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to extend his Bayer Leverkusen loan this season, according to the Sun.
The Blues prospect has been in fine form in the Bundesliga this campaign after joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan this summer.
Leverkusen have no option to buy Hudson-Odoi at the end of the season but are keen to keep on to him with rumours swirling of a January recall to Chelsea.
“I want to keep him a lot,” said Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso as quoted by Manuel Veth.
The wingers’ numbers haven’t been too great so far this campaign, with the silky winger only managing one goal and two assists in 15 outings.
Keep him there.

A full season in the Bundesliga will do Hudson-Odoi the world of good and it would be foolish to bring him back early and not play him.
It’s unclear whether Chelsea boss Graham Potter would do this, but it’s not a risk worth taking with the winger impressing in Germany.
Chelsea’s struggles are plain to see but it’s doubtful Hudson Odoi would be able to change their fortunes around by returning to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have managed a measly 17 goals from their opening 14 games and by looking at Hudson Odoi’s stats he isn’t going to change this.
The best option for all parties is for the winger to stay put and it looks like this is going to be the case.
It’s win-win, a good full season in Germany would inflate Hudson Odoi’s price tag should Chelsea want to sell him, if not he can come back and be a decent squad member for the 2023/2024 campaign.
