Chelsea open to £30m outlay for Fulham teenager Luke Harris - report

Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay a colossal £30million for 17-year-old Fulham starlet Luke Harris after his performance earlier this year.

According to the Mirror, the 17-year-old, who is yet to feature for the senior side, scored a hat-trick for the Under-21s when the Blues faced them in the first half of 2022.

He is highly rated in West London and the club hierarchy sees him as the best young player on their books which means that anyone keen on signing him will have to pay big money.

Crazy money

Even though Chelsea are not looking to pay £30million up front, this still is crazy money for someone who’s not even made his Premier League debut.

If he really was that good, he surely would have gotten a start or even some minutes off the bench by Marco Silva.

Very few players at Craven Cottage are worth that price tag and if Harris really is as good as they say he is, we would have seen a lot more of him.

The Blues spent around half the money to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa and that was after a handful of games in the top flight.

He auditioned before earning himself a big-money move and Harris definitely has not done that.

What’s baffling is that Chelsea are considering shelling out that kind of money and Todd Boehly, despite his deep pockets, surely would know that he’s better of spending that cash elsewhere to give Graham Potter a better structure at the club.
