Chelsea would have to submit 'Big proposal' to sign Yeremy Pino - Fabrizio Romano
Chelsea are among a host of Premier League clubs chasing Yeremy Pino’s signature, but only a “big proposal” would help them seal the deal.
Pino is currently in Qatar with Spain after Luis Enrique included him in his squad. The 20-year-old Villarreal product has shone in La Liga and attracted plenty of attention from the Premier League.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham and Chelsea are among a host of London clubs wanting to sign him, although a January move seems difficult.
Via his Caught Offside Daily Briefing, Romano said: “I’m aware of some recent Tottenham and Chelsea transfer rumours and I can say it’s normal that many clubs in England including London clubs are following Yeremy Pino.
“He’s a top talent and he’s represented by Stellar Group which is super strong in Premier League. At the moment there are no advanced talks yet, we will see in 2023; I’m not sure he’s going to leave in January unless a big proposal arrives.”
Hidden gem
At just 20 years old, Pino is shining in La Liga and for his national side – that illustrates just how talented the winger is.
Graham Potter will expect to be backed by new owner Todd Boehly in January as he looks to rebuild this Chelsea team and implement his playing style on the squad.
If Potter has identified Pino as a key target for January, then Chelsea could well pour a lot of resources and money in trying to secure him over the winter.
A strong World Cup campaign will only add to his price tag and draw more attention, but it already seems as though Chelsea are battling with Spurs among other London rivals for Pino.
It’d be a statement of intent if they pipped their rivals to Pino’s signature with a big bid in the winter. It can’t be ruled out.
