Chelsea youngster Hudson-Odoi is likely to leave Chelsea this summer - Journalist
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is likely to leave the club this summer, according to sports journalist, Rahman Osman.
The 22-year-old is a bright prospect but has unfortunately not reached the heights he was expected to reach when he was a teenager.
Osman has now revealed that the winger could leave Stamford Bridge stating that his injuries have played a major part in his form and that there are crucial weeks ahead.
Osman said: ” Callum Hudson-Odoi likely to leave Chelsea this summer.
“Nothing concrete yet but he’s just not seen as the same player by Thomas Tuchel and his staff.
“Crucial weeks ahead, not helped by injuries and his weight at this age of pre-season.”
Hudson-Odoi exit?
The 21-year-old came through the Chelsea youth academy ranks and was one of the hottest prospects in recent years to come out of Cobham.
An explosive and skillful winger, he wowed fans with this direct dribbling ability and flair, amassing a total of 126 appearances for the Blues before his 22nd birthday.
However, after his explosive start to his footballing career, his progression was derailed heavily in 2019 after rupturing his chilies tendon and being out of action for five months.
He has never seemed to be the same player since that devastating injury, lacking confidence with his take-ons and having a clear deficiency in end product.
Hudson-Odoi is clearly still a talented player, but with Chelsea seemingly going in a different direction with their attack with the likes of Raheem Sterling, it is hard to see how the former England under-21 international features in Tuchel’s plans.
A move away from Stamford Bridge may be what is best for his career and his development long turn.
In other Chelsea news, the club are showing interest in Leicester defender Wesley Fofana.
