Laurens said: “It is a shame because he has great talent and great potential.

“Maybe without the bad injury he would have become a consistent starter for Chelsea.

“He isn’t going to get the chance to prove it this season, so why stay when you know that you will be on the bench 80% of the time.

“A player his age with his talent, this is not what you want so I hope he can find a place where

Time to move for Hudson-Odoi

Hudson-Odoi is a player who burst onto the scene with huge hype as a teenager and was even awarded a lucrative £120,000-a-week deal in 2019 to fend off interest from the likes of Bayern Munich.

However, he has gone stale in recent years and had never been able to recover his form from before his serious knee injury.

He did not even make the squad for Chelsea’s Premier League opening day victory against Everton despite traveling to Merseyside with the team anyway.

Also, with the signing of Raheem Sterling as well as reported interest in the likes of Raphinha and Dembele, the youngster is clearly not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

A loan move to reignite his career and increase his stock in the football world again would do wonders for him.

The England under-21 international needs to leave Chelsea, find his feet again and remind everyone about the outstanding talent he possesses.

In other Chelsea news, the club are pondering whether to make a new bid for Leicester defender Wesley Fofana.
