Manchester United and Chelsea set to do battle for Benjamin Sesko's signature - Fabrizio Romano
Manchester United and Chelsea are set to go head to head to sign RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old Slovenian sensation has been linked to some of Europe’s top clubs after exploding onto the scene last season in Austria.
However, Romano has revealed on 3 August that Salzburg are hoping to keep the player for one more year, while another club may also be in the race for the frontman.
Romano said: “Chelsea had a meeting with the agent of Benjamin Šeško last week.
“Manchester United have had more than one direct meeting, and there’s also another club in the race.
“The decision is up to the player in the next few days, as RB Salzburg hope to keep him for one more year.

Who will win the race for Sesko?

After plying his trade in Slovenia, he moved to Salzburg in 2019, and has now amassed 39 appearances in three years for the club.
However, it was last season that the striker burst into the limelight, scoring 10 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions, registering a goal or assist every 2.1 games.
Sesko has also become a regular for the Slovenian national team, earning 13 caps for his country and scoring two goals.
His tall frame, excellent link-up play, and pressing ability make him an attractive commodity for potential suitors and both Chelsea and Manchester United could do with a player of his profile.
In addition to his goal contributions and his profile, he is also 19-year-old and would be a solid investment for whichever club wins the race to sign him.
