View: Brighton starlet Levi Colwill excels in first start for the club
Brighton starlet Levi Colwill impressed in his first start for the Seagulls during their Carabao Cup victory over Forest Green Rovers.
The defender, who is on loan from Chelsea, started on the left of the Brighton back three and helped the team keep a clean sheet against the League One side.
The 19-year-old, who was not dribbled past once during the game, impressed during the 3-0 away victory and will be hoping to build on this performance.
Good start for Colwill
The performance against Forest Green is a good start for the teenager who will be looking to make a big impression at the Amex Stadium this season.
Colwill, who came through the Chelsea youth academy, helped Huddersfield concede the seventh least goals in the Championship last season.
The 19-year-old’s performances helped the club reach the play-off final, a game they narrowly lost to now Premier-League-bound, Nottingham Forest.
He established himself as a dependable and defensively-sound operator, who is composed in possession and efficient in the air.
The teenager is one of Chelsea’s most promising talents and has even earned lucrative comparisons to Chelsea legend John Terry.
Colwill will be hoping the performance against Forest Green is a sign of things to come and hopefully can expect to see more Premier League opportunities in the near future.
In other Brighton news, the club are interested in Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.
