View: Chelsea fans should be really excited about Chukwuemeka as agreement with Aston Villa confirmed
Chelsea have confirmed they are set to complete the signing of Aston Villa wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka and Blues fans should be excited about the youngster’s imminent arrival.
Aston Villa left the teenager out of their pre-season tour squad after he rejected a new contract at Villa Park, and has been training with the Under-23s ever since.
However, a deal is now close to completion with both clubs confirming the agreement on 2 August with The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg reporting that the fee will be around £20m. [Jacob Steinberg]
Chelsea fans should be very excited.

But it is Chelsea who have won the battle for the teenager and now Blues fans can start to analyse the talent that will surely feature in their midfield for years to come.
Chukwuemeka is one of those rare players that sometimes comes around that you just have to admire his ability.
One of those players with the physical build of an Olympian but also possess the ball control and natural skill of a nimble playmaker.
The perfect blends of power and precision, pace and finesse, strength and skill.
His 18 goals and assist in 26 games for Aston Villa’s under-18s put him on the map, his Premier League cameos caught the eye but it was his dynamic and progressive performances at the heart of midfield during the udner-19 European Championship that firmly put him in the limelight.
In Slovakia, the 18-year-old scored three goals and provided three assists from central midfield, as he was undoubtedly the key man in helping the Young Lions win the tournament.
You don’t pay £20m for a player who has only made 16 first-team appearances, but with a talent like Chukwuemeka, you must be prepared to take that risk.
If Chelsea can nurture his ability, ease him into the midfield and allow him to grow into the player that he is threatening to become, they could have one of England’s best midfielders on their hands in the next few years.
To put it simply, Chelsea fans should be really excited.
In other Chelsea news, Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly likely to leave Chelsea this summer.
