Manchester United starlet Hannibal Mejbri needs to mellow after training ground bust up

The 2021-22 season was very disappointing for Manchester United having only just scraped Europa League football on the final day.

The squad looked to be lacking a lot of fight in the majority of their matches but all of a sudden, teenage midfielder Hannibal Mejbri appeared.

The Tunisian made up for the lack of passion displayed by many of his colleagues by coming on with a few minutes left against Liverpool and nearly getting sent off as he snapped into challenges at Anfield.

He also walked a tightrope in that final game away at Crystal Palace as he and Wilfried Zaha tangled after the Ivorian had put the Eagles ahead.

But most worryingly, Mejbri has been fighting with his own teammates as the Daily Mail reported that he and Alex Telles had been involved in a training ground bust-up.

In a way, it’s great that a young player with plenty of potential is showing that determination to win and he clearly has the fire in his belly to get stuck in at senior level, despite not playing many games for the Red Devils’ first team.

But he is starting to go too far with his scrappiness and it could very soon cause him more problems than he needs as he tries to break into the fold for good under Erik Ten Hag next season.

The teenager now needs to spend this time off to just relax and hopefully leave some of his anger on holiday so he can return to training, not getting in a fight with a teammate, with a renewed and refined sense of calm while keeping some of his determination for when it really matters.

In other Manchester United news, one of the club’s debutants over the course of the season has penned a new deal at Old Trafford and he has a very familiar surname too.
