Crystal Palace starlet Jesurun Rak-Sakyi set for League One move - report
Crystal Palace youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is set for a loan move to a League One club, according to the Athletic’s Matt Woosnam.
The 19-year-old has been lauded by manager Patrick Vieira for his talent and was particularly impressive against Manchester United in a pre-season friendly.
However, the Athletic reporter has now said that the young winger will depart the London club with several League One clubs reportedly interested in him. [The Athletic]
Woosnam said: “Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is set for a move to League One, with Oxford United and Charlton Athletic interested.
“Palace are content for the 19-year-old to move to either, with both offering regular minutes and a suitable style.”
Should Rak-Sakyi depart?
There have been arguments made that Rak-Sakyi should not leave the club on loan and should stay at Selhurst Park and fight for a place in the team.
His pre-season performances have been impressive, especially against Chelsea and Manchester, and he could add energy and flair to an already exciting Palace team.
The teenager is clearly above youth football now, with the numbers he recorded last season being amongst the best in the division.
He scored 29 goals and provided 14 assists in 55 appearances in all competitions, including 19 goals and five assists in 32 Premier League Two games.
His pace and trickery has earned himself comparisons to Palace talisman, Wilfried Zaha, and will be looking to emulate the Ivory Coast international’s career.
Whichever League One club that secures the youngster’s services is getting a huge talent and should do their best to nurture him as this could pay huge dividends for them.
In other news, Arsenal are undecided on the future of Folarin Balogun.
