View: Crystal Palace youngster Junior Dixon could follow in footsteps of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund
Crystal Palace striker Junior Dixon is attracting plenty of interest from the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund leading the race for his signature.
Palace will face a battle to keep the highly-rated Dixon at Selhurst Park, with both Dortmund and Bayern Munich showing plenty of interest.
Dixon plies his trade in Palace’s Under-18s team having only made his debut last season, but Patrick Vieira may feel forced to give him first-team opportunities sooner rather than later to fend off interest.
According to German outlet Bild, Dortmund lead the race for Dixon’s signature and have been interested in him “for a long time”.
A summer move is more likely than a bid in January, however, Bundesliga rivals Bayern are also interested, and are sending scouts to monitor Dixon’s progress.
Should Dixon join Dortmund, he’ll become the latest English talent to join the German side after they picked up Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham at a similar age.

Ambition
While Dortmund and Bayern are attractive proposals for any player in world football, it’s down to Palace to convince Dixon that he’s better off staying in London.
The Eagles have strived to make themselves the hub of all London talent, with many bright talents progressing through the club’s academy.
Vieira has done a good job since arriving at the club of bringing through some of the club’s young talents, and Dixon needs to be assured that he’s close to breaking into the first-team squad.
Losing Dixon to Dortmund or Bayern will only leave the club kicking themselves in the long term if he does turn out to be a world-class talent. Any fee offered for the 18-year-old is hardly going to have a significant impact on the club, so they’re better off trying to hold on to him and tie him down to a new contract.
On the bright side, Dixon’s emergence shows the success the Crystal Palace academy are having with bringing through London’s most promising stars.
It’s just down to the club to now show them why they should stick around.
