Everton defender Nathan Patterson in Scotland squad for Turkey friendly
Everton defender Nathan Patterson has been called up to the Scotland squad for a friendly against Turkey.
The 21-year-old has been a regular member of Steve Clarke’s squad back since his Rangers days.
Even though he’s getting more game time in England than he did in Scotland, Clarke always rated the right-back and gave him the opportunities to flourish.

With only one game left before the World Cup break, Patterson’s return does not mean much to Everton.
However, it’s important to see that the 21-year-old is eased into things and not rushed as it could lead to another injury.

His performances before his layoff were impeccable and he was undoubtedly one of the best players for the Toffees this season.
However, since he’s come back, he’s not looked the same and did not have the best of games against Bournemouth which the Toffees lost 4-1 in the Carabao Cup.
Frank Lampard appears to trust the Scotland international and we’re sure Patterson will improve under his tutelage.
We’ll also be keeping tabs on how he fares in this one-off friendly although we’re not expecting a lot of intensity as this is a nothing game and neither side has anything to play for.
In other Everton news, Lewis Dobbin has struggled to hit the sort of form which was expected of him.
