Chelsea have been delighted with the progress he has shown in the second tier and are unwilling to make a decision right now.
Thomas Tuchel will assess the youngster in pre-season in June and July before making a final call about his future.
His deal at the club expires in 2025 and given the interest in his services, he’s unlikely to be available on the cheap.
Southampton have been known to sign youngsters with high ceilings before selling them for higher fees further down the line.
In Colwill, they could find the ideal candidate as he’s clearly impressing in the Championship and could be ready for a move to the Premier League.
Everton are in the midst of a number of issues thus far and signing Colwill may not really address any of them.
However, having a young defender who can be close to their first team will be beneficial, and the same can be said about Leicester as well.
They had entrusted Wesley Fofana to become a regular at the age of 19 and may do the same with the Chelsea teenager as well.
In other Chelsea news, Aurelien Tchouameni could be the long term replacement for N’Golo Kante.
