“I know it is a big, big club – one of the biggest in England.

“Everyone here showed they really wanted me and they have a plan for me.”

Take the Premier League by storm.

This is a signing of real quality from the Toffees, and the midfield automatically becomes one of the most promising players in the Premier League upon arrival.

The fact that two Premier League giants in Everton and West Ham were battling each other for his signature is a testament to his talent.

At 20 years old, he has tremendous upside and unbelievable potential to become one of the league’s best players.

Despite his young age, he is already a game changer for Everton as he will add height, steel and defensive solidarity to the Toffees’ midfield.

The Belgium international is a significant upgrade on the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan, and will presumably slot straight into Frank Lampard’s first team.

Onana, who made 41 appearances for the former Ligue 1 Champions, is a malleable midfielder, capable at fulfilling a number of roles including the enforcer, deep-lying creator or the energiser.

He will without a doubt become a success in the Premier League and Everton fans should be over the moon that the club have managed to get this deal over the line.
