BT Sport pundit gushes over Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville for winner v Liverpool

Jim Beglin has waxed lyrical over Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville for his winner v Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday.

The 20-year-old, who’ll turn 21 on Sunday, got the best birthday gifts he could’ve asked for as his strike inflicted Virgil van Dijk’s first Premier League defeat at home.

It also took the pressure off Jesse Marsch who appeared to be fighting for his job ahead of the break for the World Cup next month.

Speaking on Premier League Productions’ world feed (29/10, 21:33), Beglin, a BT Sport pundit said, “He’s [Summerville] caught the goalkeeper by surprise. Incredible. It does not matter how they scored.”

Stunning

Summerville’s inclusion in the starting eleven surprised many as there were other players, more experienced in playing in big games that were on the bench.

However, the Leeds manager decided that the Dutchman would be the one starting on the left Flank and the decision paid off in the end.

When Harrison went off before Summerville, many wondered as to whether or not Marsch actually wanted to win the game or if he was just going to defend and be content with a draw.

All those criticising his decisions were made to eat humble pie as the Dutchman scored the winner on the eve of his 21st birthday.

This goal may prove to be vital for the Leeds manager, as it gives him some breathing room and a better chance of him not losing his job.

Managers live and die by the decisions and it could be that he lives because of this late winner from the 20-year-old which certainly takes plenty of pressure off his back.

In other Leeds United news, the brother of Whites ace Brenden Aaronson has been shedding some light on the player who has lit up Elland Road this season.
