Leeds United could sign midfielder Alex Scott from Bristol City for £10m

Leeds United could secure a move for midfielder Alex Scott from Bristol City this summer given their financial issues, according to the Mirror.

It’s understood that they will have to fend off interest from Tottenham Hotspur who are also eyeing the 18-year-old.

Bristol are awaiting bids for one of their prized assets this summer as they’re aware of the interest shown in him.

Due to their financial issues, they may be forced into cashing in on their teenage sensation.

Leeds have already scouted the midfielder and could make a summer move for him.

Since Adam Forshaw’s arrival, the Whites have failed to sign another central midfielder.

Marcelo Bielsa kept demanding the board for some reinforcements in that area but was let down.

A striker in Rodrigo was expected to play as an eight due to the lack of options in the middle of the park.

Signing Scott may not mean that their problems are instantly solved but he will grow into the role for sure.

Given his age, he will be at Elland Road for the next decade if he manages to become a first-team regular.

This means that the risks in signing him are minimal, to say the least, and he also has a high resale value.

It remains to be seen if Leeds have it in them to sign him ahead of Spurs who are also interested.

In other Leeds United news, Manchester United have joined the Whites in the race to sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
