Leeds United defender Cody Drameh picks up knock in U-21 clash v Tranmere Rovers

Leeds United defender Cody Drameh sustained a knock as the Under-21s side beat Tranmere Rovers 5-3 on Tuesday night.

The right-back, 20, started the game but could not finish it and was withdrawn in the second period.

He will be assessed on Wednesday to see the severity of his injury and whether it would rule him out for the next game.

Via Twitter, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue wrote, “In addition, Michael Skubala says Drameh took a knock towards the end and will be assessed tomorrow. Hjelde missed out with a stomach bug.”

Hope he bounces back

Drameh enjoyed the second half of last season when he moved to Cardiff City on loan despite there being a full-back crisis at Leeds.

The assumption after him not loaned this summer was that he would be closer to making the first team.

However, he now appears to have dropped down to the reserves and most of the football he’s likely to play over the next few months is going to be with the juniors.

Hopefully, his injury is not too serious as he needs to play his way back into Jesse Marsch’s plans.

Drameh has proven that not only can he play as a right-back, but he can also do a decent job on the left as well as centre-back.

An injury crisis is never far away for Leede so we’re expecting the 20-year-old to play more games in the second half of the campaign for the senior side.
