Leeds United defender Cody Drameh to leave in January transfer window - report
Leeds United defender Cody Drameh is reportedly expected to part ways with the club over the January transfer window.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds had a contract extension on the table for the 20-year-old to sign, but that is no longer there.
Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs keen on signing him and Leeds are expecting interest from the Netherlands as well.
Right decision?
Dortmund are known to be a side that invests in young talent and goes on to sell them for huge profits in the future.
Newcastle, under their new owners, are looking like a club that’s not shy to shell out the big bucks but if a good young player is available at a decent price, they won’t be against it.

They’re also looking for a long-term replacement to Kieran Trippier and Drameh makes a lot of sense not just because he’s young and plays the same role but can also be deployed anywhere across the back line.
Leeds may regret letting go of a very talented young player for someone like Luke Ayling who does not have too long left at the top of the game.
Drameh went to Cardiff on loan and was their player of the season despite only joining in January.
He’s clearly at a Premier League level and Leeds should’ve given him game time rather than make him play for the reserves.
