Leeds United: Kristoffer Klaesson announces himself in major fashion in big win v Wolves

Leeds United pulled off a sensational comeback to beat Wolves 3-2 and leave with a very important three points on Friday evening in the Premier League.

Jesse Marsch had to deal with numerous injuries, with all four of his substitutes being forced due to injuries, including one thanks to a concussion picked up by Mateusz Klich.

There was one big senior debut and that was for Kristoffer Klaesson, who replaced Illan Meslier after he was clattered by Raul Jiminez at the start of the second half.

Klaesson initially struggled after arriving from Norway in the summer but has started growing into the role at Elland Road with the under-23s recently.

The 21-year-old shined at Molineux after coming on, and although Wolves having 10 men helped, he pulled off some big saves to secure the huge three points.

Interesting;y, and despite playing less than a half of football, made four saves according to WhoScored, the same number that Jose Sa and Meslier made combined.

As well as those, he made a crucial interception by punching a cross destined for the head of Willy Boly in the box in the dying moments of injury time.

The Premier League is the biggest stage in world football, and the pressure of coming into this game midway through could easily have swallowed him up.

With Meslier now having a hip problem, Marsch would surely have confidence in his rotation option, Klaesson, to throw him in against Southampton if needed.

The Frenchman has had his performance issues this season, and many believed it was because he had no competition, it looks as though Friday has certainly changed that idea at Leeds United.
