Leeds United sign Selby Town youngster Lambert

Leeds United have sealed the signing of under-8s player Lambert from NCEL Division One side Selby Town.

The English club took to Twitter to share stories about how well their youngsters had been doing on trial at different clubs.

They then shared a picture of a young boy, who held a ‘Lambert 22’ shirt at Elland Road and the move was confirmed by the team.

Via their Twitter account, they wrote, “Furthermore to the sensational effort from both our U9’s and U13’s, it proved a stellar effort from all and…

“Two of our U13’s have been invited back from trials and one of our U8’s depicted below, has signed a contract with Leeds Utd.”

Leeds have always had the penchant of identifying players with huge potential at a very young age.

However, Lambert, who appears to be eight or below, may just be one of their youngest acquisitions in recent history.

It certainly will have been an honour for him to be snapped up by a club of Leeds’ magnitude and stature.

Thorp Arch is a brilliant place to mould players for the first team and while he may not train there just yet, there certainly will be trips there in the coming years.

We’re excited to see how Lambert progresses and whether or not he can go on to make a senior appearance for the Whites.

As of now, it’s time to bask in the glory and enjoy this memorable day for the youngster.
