Leeds United wonder Sam Greenwood makes WhoScored Premier League team of the week
Leeds United wonder Sam Greenwood has made WhoScored’s Premier League team of the week after his electric performance against Bournemouth.
The attacking midfielder scored a 60th-minute screamer to bring Leeds United back into the game after being substituted on by Jesse Marsch.
Greenwood’s place in the team of the week is fully justified after his fine outing, a coming-of-age performance that will now give Marsch some selection headaches.
Football’s largest detailed football statistics website WhoScored ranked the best Premier League team of the week based on their ratings for players from their most recent game.
Greenwood was joined by his Leeds United teammate Liam Cooper in the side, despite his team shipping three goals.

Greenwood’s introduction in the 54th minute against Bournemouth changed the game completely.
He provided Leeds United with the spark needed to put them back into the game and turn the tides on Gary O’neil’s fierce Bournemouth side.
Having made only four appearances prior to Saturday, it seemed like Greenwood wasn’t on Marsch’s favourites list.
Nevertheless, the England U21 international has now staked his claim to become more of a focal point in the Leeds first team after his outing against the Cherries.
As well as scoring, the youngster also played a crucial role in Cooper’s equaliser, delivering a perfect corner towards the back post for the centre-back to slot home.
This meant that the 20-year-old received a sensational 8.44 match rating from WhoScored, no easy feat, especially considering the scoreline when he came onto the pitch.
Hopefully, Greenwood can now push on from this performance and make more of a dint in Marsch’s attacking-minded setup.
