Ben Doak set to sign his first professional contract with Liverpool

Ben Doak is set to sign his first professional contract with Liverpool, according to journalist David lynch.

The former Sunday Mirror journalist wrote for The National Sport that the youngster will be tied down on a professional contract when he turns 17 later this week.

Doak has been impressing for the club at the youth levels and Jurgen Klopp handed him his debut against Derby County in the League Cup third round on Wednesday (9 November).

Talent

Doak has made a strong impression for the Liverpool youth team since joining from Celtic over the summer. 

He has really grabbed the attention with some stellar performances in the UEFA Youth league. The highly skilful young talent has scored four goals and provided four assists in six UEFA Youth league games this season. 

The youngster has also trained at Kirkby and Klopp and his coaching staff have been really impressed by his attitude and ability. 

It’s not easy for young talents to break into the senior team easily, but Klopp is always willing to promote youngsters. He gave Doak his debut against Derby County when he came off in the second half. 

The first thing that struck everyone was that he was absolutely fearless. He is so confident on the ball and has got fantastic dribbling abilities. 

Liverpool moved into the next round after they won via a penalty shootout, and the youngster received loads of praise from his manager. 

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harvey Elliott have become regulars at the club after shining at a young age and Doak could be next in line.
