Darren Bent: Jude Bellingham will not join Liverpool if they finish outside top four

Darren Bent does not see Jude Bellingham snubbing other big clubs in order to join Liverpool without Champions League football.

The England international is on course to become one of the most expensive transfers in football history next summer with a number of clubs linked with his services.

Liverpool have been one of the early suitors of the 19-year-old, but have struggled a great deal in the Premier League this season.

Speaking on the Kelly & Wrighty Show by Premier League Productions (24/10, 14:37), Bent said, “They [Liverpool] have to finish top four. If they don’t they have no chance of Bellingham. Real Madrid are keen on signing him.”

Makes sense

We do not see Bellingham leaving Borussia Dortmund for a club not competiting for the Champions League.

Real Madrid are, by default, among the contenders for Europe’s top honour and they will be a more suitable club for him.

With Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, they’ve already started building the midfield for the next generation and they could complete the trio with Bellingham.

Even Chelsea could be a good place for him to go as N’Golo Kante and Jorginho could both leave the club this summer.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool need to turn things around quickly if they really want to sign Bellingham next summer.

Another question is about the money and it remains to be seen if FSG will shell out the big millions to sanction this deal.
