Liverpool prepared to announce move for Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho - Fabrizio Romano

Liverpool are reportedly on the cusp of securing a move for highly-rated Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are now prepared to sign the contract and last-minute paperwork to finalise a deal for the 19-year-old.

After failing to sign him in the final hours of the January transfer window, Liverpool finally seem to have got their man on a deal until 2027 with a sell-on clause of 20 per cent.

Via his personal Twitter account, Romano wrote, “Liverpool are now prepared to sign paperworks and contracts to announce Fabio Carvalho deal in the coming weeks. It was matter of respect for Fulham – but it’s 100% done. Here we go confirmed.

“Contract until June 2027, medical completed, 20% sell on clause included.”

Carvalho has had an exceptional goal-scoring season in the Championship and will be a terrific addition to this Liverpool side.

Given how stacked the Reds attack already is, he may have to bid his time before he becomes a regular fixture in the matchday squad.

Should Takumi Minamino leave in the summer, then he certainly will be moved up in the pecking order for Jurgen Klopp.

Carvalho has played as an attacking midfielder, in the number 10 role for Fulham this season.

While Klopp’s system does not accommodate a player in that position, he could either move Carvalho out wide or ask him to play the Phillipe Coutinho role as an attacking free eight with limited defensive responsibilities.
