View: Liverpool must prioritise move for Chicago Fire striker Jhon Duran who has first-team potential
Liverpool have reportedly keen on signing Chicago Fire striker Jhon Jader Duran who is also on the radar of other European clubs.
According to Guardian journalist Tom Bogert, bids in the region of £9million could be submitted for the 18-year-old in January.
Liverpool have to jump the queue and quickly look to seal a deal for him as he’s got the potential of being a first-team player.
Their talent ID has been quality and that’s credit to the hierarchy hiring the right coaches and scouts and people in the sports science department.
The Colombian will certainly find it easier to adapt knowing that Luis Diaz is at Anfield and while he may not instantly be a first team player, it’s clear that Jurgen Klopp would ask Diaz to help him settle.
Liverpool does have the vibe of being a homely club to up-and-coming players and if they’re good enough, Klopp does not mind giving their big breaks.

The price does seem a tad steep for an 18-year-old unproven in one of Europe’s big leagues but if the Reds are confident they will go ahead with this.
They will have to act quickly as the race for his services is heating up and another club could offer him a quicker route to first-team football.
Duran is highly-rated in the MLS and his teammate Brian Gutierrez has tipped him for greatness.
Via the Mirror, he said recently, “I’ve said this from the beginning, they both have very, very high ceilings. If we talk about Jhon, he is a player that, once he gets it all together, he can be a really, really special player. He has all the tools.”
He does appear to be a generational talent and Jurgen Klopp would surely love having him at Liverpool.
