Manchester United in talks to sign Liverpool target and Chicago Fire attacker Jhon Duran - report
Manchester United are reportedly set to join Liverpool in the race to sign Chicago Fire ace Jhon Duran.
According to the Sun, the 18-year-old, who was been making headlines in the MLS is being targeted by the Premier League giants.
Erik ten Hag’s associates have been in contact to sign the attacker and a £10million fee is understood to be demanded.
This certainly is steep money for someone who is not proven in Europe and is only starring in America.
There the quality of football is not as high as it is in Europe so before he moves to an elite club, he may want to weigh down expectations and join a lesser club.
If Liverpool or United sign him and plan to loan him out to another European club then it makes a lot of sense.
However, they need to ensure what they’re signing up for and if their scouts are giving them the green signal, then by all means they should go for it.
Chicago are under pressure to sell him after a disappointing season and he’s not likely to say no to joining the giants of the game.
He’s already become a big name in the MLS and he may be starting to feel that he’ll soon outgrow the competition and the best time to leave could be now.
