Egan-Riley buzzing to be here
The Manchester-born defender can play in multiple positions along the line, being deployed as a centre-back or a full-back during his time at the club.
He made his debuts for the club in the community shield, the Champions League and the Premier League but was unfortunately never able to consolidate a spot for himself in the first team.
The defender, who is also eligible to represent Republic of Ireland, also captained the U18s and U23s while playing for the Citizens.
Burnley’s new prodigy has also featured several times at youth international level playing for the England U15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 teams as well as Irish youth teams and revealed his excitement to be joining the club in an interview on the club website.
He said: “I’ve watched Vincent Kompany since I was a young player, and I am looking forward to taking in all the teachings and learnings he can give me.
“I am quite an intelligent player, comfortable in possession and making things happen but on the flip side, I like to do my job and keep the ball from going in our net.
“I am just ready to kick on and get started ahead of the pre-season and the season ahead.”
In other Burnley news, the Clarets have also signed Callum West from Macclesfield.
