Fabrizio Romano: Manchester City keen on extending Phil Foden deal
Manchester City have reportedly been keen on extending Phil Foden’s deal at the club for a number of months.
The 21-year-old came off the bench on Tuesday night (April 5) and turned the game around for the Citizens against Atletico Madrid.
The La Liga side hustled and harried the Premier League champions from minute one and they needed a bit of spark from Foden to turn things around for them.
Phil Foden’s impact makes the difference. He’s only 21 – important point to mention. That’s why Manchester City are prepared to extend his contract since months, never been in doubt. 🔵⭐️ #UCL pic.twitter.com/NkllL4t65C

His current deal expires in the summer of 2024 and he appears to be in line for a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, “Phil Foden’s impact makes the difference. He’s only 21 – important point to mention. That’s why Manchester City are prepared to extend his contract since months, never been in doubt.”
Pep Guardiola has taken the youngster’s game to the next level and will be delighted by what he brings to the table for City.
Despite being part of a squad with a number of world-class players, the Stockport Iniesta finds a way to shine for the defending league champions.
He has been particularly effective against low blocks and we cannot wait to see just how far he can go once he hits his prime.
Many have labelled him as a future Ballon d’Or contender and given his rise, it is hard to bet against that.
He’s also expected to be a regular in the England national squad for many years to come.
In other Manchester City wonder kid news, the Citizens are set to sign Ghana teenager Henry Oware in £840k deal.
