Manchester City wonder Cole Palmer hails Pep Guardiola for his development

Manchester City midfielder Cole Palmer has hailed Pep Guardiola for his development into the professional game in recent years.

The 20-year-old Mancunian is a special talent and can look as far as first-team regular Phil Foden as a player who has made it under Guardiola from the youth system.

Cole confessed he’s improved drastically under the guidance of the Spaniard from simply being given “opportunities to play” in all competitions.

“Firstly, by giving me opportunities to play, advice on the training ground, what to do better,” says Palmer as quoted by MailSport.

“You can see what he does with players and how he improves them, so when he’s talking to me I just try to get as much from him as I can.

“When he does his meetings, 99 per cent of the time they’re always spot on. It is a bit mad!”

It looks like Palmer is next up on the Guardiola conveyer belt of talents ready to be part of the Premier League juggernauts trophy munching squad.

He’s a bright talent and the fact Guardiola has kept him at City to learn the trade from some of the best in the world suggests he has plans for him.

The Spaniard did exactly the same thing with Foden, rather than sending him out on loan to gain experience the tactician kept him close, in and around first-team antics.

Palmer seems to be following the same path and if City manages to get him to the level of Foden, the Premier League will have to be dealing with the Citizens for countless years to come.

The youngster signed a new and improved contract at City last season until 2026, further cementing his place amongst the City stars, his rise will be an interesting watch.
