Stoke City in advanced talks to sign Man City striker Liam Delap on loan - Fabrizio Romano
Manchester City striker Liam Delap is reportedly in advanced talks with Stoke City, who want him on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old has been the subject of heavy transfer interest this summer after the club secured the signings of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez earlier in the window.
Southampton have already had a bid rejected for Delap, however now Stoke are reportedly getting close in the race for Delap’s signature. [Fabrizio Romano]
Delap reunion at Stoke?
The name Delap will be famous amongst Stoke fans as his father, Rory Delap, is a legend of the club making 208 appearances for the Potters during a six-year stint at the club.
The Ireland international amassed 359 Premier League appearances during his career and was notoriously known for his long throw-ins.

Delap, who is now assistant manager at the club, will look to welcome his teenage son to the club, and hopefully, help him get his first taste of men’s football.
The 19-year-old frontman has been a sensation at youth level, establishing himself as a prolific striker at that level and one of City’s brightest prospects.
It is clear why the club is eager for Delap to depart to get game time and gain valuable experience, however, they are not willing to let him go on a permanent deal, which is why Southampton failed with their efforts to sign him.
If the youngster does complete his move to Stoke, he will be looking to continue the Delap name that his father made so famous years ago.
