View: Erling Haaland will be final piece in Manchester City puzzle for Pep Guardiola
Manchester City are already an absolute juggernaut of an outfit that only seem to be getting better and better under Pep Guardiola.
Yes they relinquished their iron grip on the Carabao Cup this season after four consecutive successes but they remain in the driving seat to retain their Premier League crown over equally impressive Liverpool and are on course to claim an elusive first Champions League trophy.
Remarkably Guardiola’s men have done all this whilst operating without a striker for many games, Gabriel Jesus the only real senior option available for the Spaniard and not really able to play week in and week out.
With recent rumours linking the 25-year-old with a move to Arsenal, a natural forward is the obvious area for City to invest their hefty budget this summer.
And it looks like they have already identified who they want to go for, with Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland mooted to move to the Etihad.
The Norwegian superstar has grabbed a staggering 85 in 87 games for the German giants and could give Guardiola’s side that killer instinct they need to push onto the next level.

The £62 million release clause Haaland is reportedly available for is a bargain in the modern market and at just 21-years-old, he could serve City with the same sort of longevity as all-time top scorer and club legend Sergio Aguero.
It could also help to bring the best out of other stars such as Jack Grealish, who has struggled to establish himself following his own blockbuster move to Manchester from Aston Villa last summer.
Their drawn-out pursuit of Harry Kane ultimately failed as Daniel Levy refused to budge on his eye-watering asking price of £160 million and it is vital City don’t get drawn into a similarly protected transfer saga this time around.
Get Haaland in early and it will be the clearest sign they could send to their rivals that they aren’t intending on resting on their laurels next season.
In other Manchester City news, this current youngster at the club has been tipped to be world-class in the future.
