View: Manchester City academy twins Tyler and Jack Fletcher in midst of Scotland v England battle
Tyler and Jack Fletcher, who are the sons of former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher, have shone in the Manchester City academy.
Despite spending 12 years of his career at Old Trafford, Fletcher’s twins have risen through the ranks at Manchester City, and are now attracting the attention of international scouts.
Tyler and Jack, who are 15 years old, have already been selected by Scotland’s youth teams, but The Sun are reporting that England have also asked the twins to come and train with the Three Lions.
Clearly viewed as hot property, the Fletcher twins will have to make a choice about their national allegiance fairly soon.
North or South of the border
Having made 80 caps for Scotland, there’s no doubt that Fletcher will be nudging his sons towards following in his footsteps, but both Tyler and Jack were born in England and could instead lean towards England’s invitation.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that both twins make the same decision – there’s a good chance one heads for Scotland and the other to England. That’d sure be a feisty family rivalry.
But while the Fletcher family will obviously be excited about the prospect of international interest, it’s important that both players keep their focus on playing regularly and improving.
At such a young age, there’s such a long way to go for both players and neither has even played senior football yet.
Fletcher of course is a great role model for doing just that, and his coaching experience will only help his sons develop into stars.
He’ll be bitter to see them coming through and doing so well at old rivals Manchester City – it’ll be even worse for him if both his sons choose to represent England.
