Man United and Everton agree on £15m James Garner deal - Fabrizio Romano
Man United and Everton have agreed on a £15m deal for 21-year-old defensive midfielder James Garner, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The youngster is yet to feature for the Reds Devils this season as is clearly not in Erik Ten Hag’s plans despite having a stellar loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season.
However, Romano has now revealed that the talented midfielder is close to an exit from the club and will join the Toffees on a permanent deal.
Will United regret it?
This seems like a transfer that the Reds are destined to regret, with the player being one of the academy’s most talented youngsters in the past.
The defensive midfielder, made 48 appearances, scoring four goals and providing 10 assists as his performances helped the club win the play-off and achieve promotion to the Premier League.

30 of these appearances were in the defensive midfield position, and he was able show ability in interceptions, set pieces and incisive, key passes.
However, Everton will be acquiring a player that will add depth and youthful exuberance to their midfield, and with Garner, Amadou Onana and the newly-transformed Alex Iwobi, their options in the middle of the park now look a lot more promising.
If they can continue to build a young talented core around players like Garner, Dwight McNeil and Anthony Gordon, assuming they keep hold of him, the future of the club looks in good hands.
As for Man United, it is a disappointing end for a player who showed a lot of promise on several loan spells and will be eager to make the club regret not giving him a chance.
In other Manchester United news, the club has confirmed Antony has joined the club in a blockbuster move.
