Manchester United interested in Red Bull Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko - Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United are interested in 19-year-old talented Red Bull Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano,

The Slovenian teenager exploded onto the scene this season with his impressive performances for the Austrian side and has drawn comparisons to the Norweigan superstar, and one of his predecessors at the club, Erling Haaland.

However, Romano has now revealed that the Red Devils are monitoring the frontman, and are aware of his talent and potential, although so are Newcastle.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Manchester United are well informed on Salzburg talent Benjamin Šeško.

“He’s one of the players monitored, considered ‘really talented’ – but it’s not imminent or advanced deal as of now.

“Manchester United are aware of Šeško as other clubs are informed too, including Newcastle.”

Who is Sesko?

Sesko is a player that burst into prominence seemingly out of nowhere, but once watching him play, not only is his talent evident but it is also easy to see where the Haaland comparisons have come from.

The teenager moved to RB Salzburg in 2019, and after a loan spell in his first season, he has now made a name for himself in the same club that Haaland did, three years ago.

Sesko scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 36 appearances last season, registering an impressive rate of a goal or assist every 2.1 games.

Not only does the Slovenian ply his trade at Haaland’s old stomping ground, but he also shares a similar build and amount of athleticism as the Manchester City striker, standing at six foot four while possessing a surprising turn of pace.

The youngster has a good first touch, neat ball control, and is also clinical in front of goal while effectively bringing his teammates into play with his creativity.

With Newcastle also reportedly interested in the Slovenian, it is no surprise clubs are starting to line up for the attacker, and whatever club does manage to get their hands on him, they are making a great investment.

In other Manchester United news, the club may lose young defender, Brandon Williams.
