Juventus talent Nicolo Fagioli snubbed Manchester United move

Juventus star Nicolo Fagiolo snubbed a move to Manchester United during his youth career because he was not ready to leave Italy, his brother Tuttosport.com.

Fagioli is one of Italy’s brightest young talents and has worked his way through Juventus’ youth ranks to play a part in their first team this season.

The Italian’s brother Alessandro confessed that Fagioli is a “mummy’s boy” and said no to a move to Manchester United in his youth to stay in his home country.

“Nicolo is a mummy’s boy, he has never liked distance,” said Alessandro as quoted by Tuttosport.com.

“When he was at the Cremonese youth team, he said no to Manchester United, he didn’t feel ready to leave Italy.”

The story so far.

Fagioli impressed Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri early on this season with a cameo appearance from the bench, scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Lecce.

He has now made nine appearances for the Turin giants, scoring twice in all competitions.

The Italian spent last season on loan at Cremonese where he helped them to promotion to Serie A, gaining many plaudits for his fierce talent, providing three goals and seven assists along the way.

He’s now fully established himself in Massimilano Allegri’s plans and looks set to become one of Italy’s next big football stars.

It’s hard to say if the Italian maestro would have made the same strides at the Red Devils, but considering he likes his home comforts it’s doubtful he would have settled into life in England.

United may end up making a move for Fagioli in the future if he continues his impressive rise, especially with Juventus on the decline.
