Manchester United likely to loan out left-back Alvaro Fernandez - report
Manchester United are reportedly likely to loan out 19-year-old left-back Alvaro Fernandez this summer.
According to Manchester Evening News, the imminent arrival of Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia would mean that Fernandez is likely to go out for the rest of the season.
The Red Devils have agreed on a £12.9million fee to sign the 22-year-old – hijacking his transfer to French side Lyon.
Makes sense
Fernandez seems eager to continue his development next season at the best way for that to happen is by playing senior football regularly.
At United, the competition for places is always high and he’s going to be pushed further down the pecking order with Malacia’s arrival.

Luke Shaw is currently the first choice option with Alex Telles his understudy. Whatever little chances he had of impressing Erik ten Hag in pre season may have evaporated.
The Dutchman is unlikely to look beyond three first-team left-backs in order to pick the one he prefers for the upcoming season.
Any loan exit will have to be sanctioned by ten Hag and he is not understood to have made a decision on the future of Fernandez just yet.
There are clubs in the Championship who have expressed an interest to sign the 2021/22 Under-23 Manchester United player for the year.
