Sancho and Pellistri score in Manchester United pre-season win v Liverpool
Manchester United defeated Liverpool 4-0 in a pre-season friendly in Thailand on Tuesday 12 July with Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri getting on the scoresheet.
The clash was held in Bangkok, and manager Erik ten Hag fielded a surprisingly strong team featuring the likes of Raphael Varane, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw.
However, it was the youngsters that stole the show with Sancho opening the scoring in the 12th minute and Pellistri scoring the fourth and final goal in the 76th minute to confirm the 4-0 win for the Red Devils.
The result was a positive one as uncertainty surrounds Manchester United at the moment, but ten Hag’s first game as manager ending in a convincing 4-0 win will help ease some nerves at Old Trafford, even if it was just a friendly

Players like Matthijs de Ligt and United target, Frenkie de Jong, both made names for themselves under ten Hag’s stewardship at Ajax.
Sancho will be hoping to have a better season than his disappointing debut season last term however, Pellistri is a much more unknown entity compared to his English compatriot.
The 20-year-old is already a full Uruguay international despite not making a competitive first-team appearance for his club yet, since joining the club from Penarol in 2020.
The right-winger made 34 appearances for Deportivo Alaves last season, and his six caps for Uruguay are a testament to his ability.
Time will tell how ten Hag plans to use Pellistri, but making a name for himself and impressing his coach in pre-season is a good way to start.
In other news, Wolves have rejected a £20m bid from Everton for midfielder, Morgan Gibbs-White.
