View: Erik ten Hag handed perfect foil to promote youth after Manchester United U18 FA Cup success
Erik ten Hag has a plethora of talented youngsters to work with at Manchester United from the 2022/23 season.
Their Under-18 side thrilled the capacity crowd at Old Trafford when they beat Norwich City 3-1 in the FA Cup final.
Alejandro Garnacho, who is the star of this side, bagged two late goals to ensure that his side lifted silverware in front of their home fans.
While not all of them will go on to make senior careers, certain players will be handed chances under ten Hag.
Garnacho has already made his first-team debut this season when he came off the bench against Chelsea.
He’s clearly better than the Under-18 level and we’re expecting him to be handed a chance in pre season by the Dutchman.

The Class of 92 FA Youth Cup winners produced a number of players who become first-team heroes – Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, and the Neville brothers.
We’re not suggesting that these players will reach those heights, but it’s certainly worth looking into just how well they’ll thrive under a coach who advocates promoting youth players.
Apart from Garnacho, Charlie McNeill, Marc Jurado and Kobbie Mainoo are among a few others tipped to have bright futures in the professional game.
Whether or not they all remain at United, remains to be seen, but ten Hag surely will be analysing this game and the entire FA Youth Cup run to see which players could potentially make the cut in a few years.
These truly seem exciting times for Red Devils after a torturous 2021/22 campaign.
In other Manchester United news, the Red Devils, Real Madrid and Manchester City are in the race to sign River Plate star Enzo Fernandez.
