With new manager Erik Ten Haag being a big fan of having faith in youth players and with the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt making names for themselves under Ten Haag it is good news for this current crop of talented Man United youth players.

The former Ajax manager has already confirmed the signing of Feyenoord full-back Tyrell Malacia and the 22-year-old has joined the team for their pre-season tour.

This will be music to the ears of players like Iqbal, Savage, Garnacho, Mejbri, not to mention Anthony Elanga.

However, receiving two first-team numbers is great news for the duo, and a huge indication that they play a part in Ten Haag’s plans.

The 19-year-olds have made a combined 98 appearances for the club in youth games including a memorable Champions League appearances when they both came on as substitutes against Young Boys on the 8 December.

Time will tell how Ten Haag will plan on using the duo, but the future looks bright for the pair.
