Fabrizio Romano: Newcastle will have to pay over £29m to sign Vasco de Gama ace Andrey Santos
Newcastle will have to reportedly shell out over £29million to sign Vasco de Gama teenager Andrey Santos who has been on their radar.
According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies are monitoring him for a long time and share a good relationship with the midfielder’s agents too.
There are a number of other clubs in the race to sign him so it’s far from a done deal for Newcastle.
Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “More on Andrey Santos: price tag will be really high for Brazilian star, more than €30m. 👀🇧🇷 #NUFC

Money is no longer a concern at St James’ Park and the club can afford to overpay for talent that will make their team stronger.
While a case can be made for Santos making this midfield stronger right away, he’s got world class potential and could be worth a lot more in a few years.
From an investment standpoint, he is an exceptional option to look at and he could go on to be the next big thing in football as well.
Newcastle will certainly be requiring a midfielder or two in January as Bruno Guimaraes is the only one in there who’s at the big six level.
Santos will add something else to this midfield and bring more balance to it so it’s something that Eddie Howe should purse in the coming months.
We always love to see the best players playing in the Premier League and it could soon be the best place for upcoming talent as well.
In other Newcastle United news, the Magpies have confirmed a new signing that will see him join up with the squad in January.
