Birmingham starlet Jobe Bellingham signs first professional contract
Birmingham wonderkid Jobe Bellingham has signed his first professional contract with the club, coming into effect when he becomes 17.
The talented 16-year-old has already played three times for the club, as well as making 24 appearances for Birmingham’s various youth teams.
However, the club have now rewarded the teenager for his impressive performances by signing him to a professional deal and securing his future at the club.
Jobe said: “Honoured to sign my scholarship and agree my first professional contract at the club.
“Cannot wait for the season to start.”
Bellingham legacy goes on?
Jobe will be looking to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Jude, who in his short period in the professional game has made a huge impact on both the club and international level.
After making his debut at Birmingham, he left for Germany where he has become one of football’s biggest stars and hottest prospects.
Jobe has started almost as well as his older brother, making three appearances for the club before his 17th birthday, the first of which coming in the FA Cup as a late substitute against Plymouth Argyle in January 2022.
Jobe, who was born in Stourbridge, has also made appearances for England’s youth teams at their under-15 and under-17 levels.
The teenage starlet also has a similar playing style to his brother, despite being a more attack-minded midfielder and playing slightly higher up the pitch.
He is energetic, comfortable in possession and very dynamic around the pitch, and if continues to progress the way he is, the sky is the limit for the teenager.
