Chelsea submit bid for Inter Milan midfield talent Cesare Casadei - report
Chelsea have submitted an offer in the region of £6.7 million to sign Inter Milan midfield talent Cesare Casadei, as reported by Calciomercato.
The Italian media outlet reported on 30 July that the Blues are in the hunt to sign the 19-year-old midfielder, but Inter Milan are asking for a fee of around £16.8m.
The opening offer has been rejected by the Serie A club. It seems Chelsea want to sign the youngster permanently but they need to improve their offer.
Big talent
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on 29 July that the Blues insist on signing the youngster.
Chelsea tried to include him in a part deal when talks were held regarding the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. But, Inter are reluctant to sell him.
The young midfielder is yet to play for the senior team, but the price quoted for him is way too much. In fact, Chelsea’s opening bid is also staggering.
It only indicates that Casadei is a fantastic prospect, and the scouts must have seen something special in him.
Di Marzio suggests that Thomas Tuchel is “bewitched” by the youngster’s ability, and they want to sign him permanently.
The report from Calciomercato doesn’t state clearly whether the Blues would come up with yet another offer, close to Inter’s asking price, or will they move on from the chase.
The youngster scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 40 games in all competitions in the youth games.
In other Chelsea news, the club are showing interest in Leicester defender Wesley Fofana.
