Leeds United in pursuit of deals for George Hall and Sonny Perkins - The Athletic
Leeds United are lining up moves for West Ham’s Sonny Perkins and Birmingham’s George Hall this summer according to The Athletic.
It has been revealed on Thursday [2 June], that the Whites’ academy recruitment is set to continue this summer with the club lining up deals for the youngsters.
Perkins has been a regular for the Hammers’ development side this season and has previously been named Premier League 2 player of the month for April.
The 18-year-old made his West Ham debut in the Europa League group stage fixture against Dynamo Zagreb.
Hall has made two appearances for the Blues this season after coming through the ranks at St Andrew’s.

Leeds targeting younger players to develop in their under-23 side is an encouraging and excellent line of recruitment that has bought other clubs plenty of success in the past.
Brentford are the prime example of utilising a reserve side and developing younger players through an efficient system.
Perkins is highly regarded at the London Stadium and nearly scored against Leeds in the Whites’ Premier League victory over the Hammers in January.
Leeds have shown plenty of faith in youth before and have a history of taking on younger players from Premier League rivals with Lewis Bate being a good example from Chelsea.
Jesse Marsch has shown faith in youth players and young players like Perkins and Hall should be relishing the opportunity to make the move to Yorkshire to develop their careers further.
Moving for young players is a low-risk high reward strategy that should be adopted more at every level of the professional game.
If the move doesn’t work out, there was a very small outlay required to purchase the player, and if a player goes on to be a success there is the potential for a large profit to be made.
