Liverpool will have to break Aberdeen transfer record to sign defender Calvin Ramsay - report
Liverpool are reportedly close to finalising a deal for Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay this summer.
According to Sky Sports, the Reds are confident of roping in the 18-year-old and making him their second signing after Fabio Carvalho.
It’s understood that they will have to shell out a fee in the region of £3million in order to secure his services, which would be a club-record fee for Aberdeen.
Good move?
Ramsay’s undoubtedly one of the best teenage right-backs in the world right now.
He knows that a move to Liverpool will mean that he’ll have to play second-fiddle to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, that could be a great learning experience for him as he’ll be in a team filled with world class players and a world class manager in Jurgen Klopp.
Having a quality backup like Ramsay would see him given the luxury to rest Alexander-Arnold more as well.
The England international has been tireless working for the Reds and seldom gets break to catch his breath.
In terms of career progression too, a move to Anfield will be phenomenal for Ramsay.
It puts him on the map of the Scottish national team and hopefully, he can go on to secure a regular starting berth there.
In other Liverpool news, defender Neco Williams faces an uncertain future ahead of the summer transfer window.
